I was chatting with a client the other day about my Spark Intensives. They were on the fence because they’d looked at the long list of potential results…and they felt overwhelmed. They weren’t sure they were ready.

I get it. Working with me 1:1 can be a fire hose. Spark Intensives are often so power-packed that clients need a day or two off to percolate. This is why I often facilitate them on Fridays…and why I follow up with an Action Plan (and a check in call a month later).

They’re intense.

So when I talk about them, I tend to hear two types of hesitation:

1. Am I even ready for all that? Don’t I need to do xyzotherthing before being ready?
2. But I don’t even know what I’m doing yet!!!

I see these as the same thing. Sometimes when you have a big tangle of string, it’s easier to ignore the tangle and work with the end you have, dealing with knots along the way. Occasionally you’ll find a big knot and it’ll stall you for a while until you finally muster the energy to deal with it.

Untangling can feel like unraveling. Unraveling can feel a little (or a lot) out of control. And a lack of control in the place where you need the most is…well, it’s hard to handle.

There’s a reframe here though. Untangling/unraveling isn’t losing control; it’s gaining it. You’re no longer in reaction mode simply because an unexpected knot showed up. You don’t have to deal with bigger and bigger problems simply because you didn’t deal with them when they were small (ouch, I know). You can make a plan, respond in integrity, and grow from there.

Your business becomes easier and more manageable which gives you more energy, easier marketing, better clients, and more time to feel generous.

Here are the answer to those hesitations:

Are you ready? Yes.
Do you need to do those other things first? No.
But you don’t even know what you’re doing yet? Perfect. Let’s figure it out.
